Shopping Without Regrets

Have you ever gone shopping and you get all these new clothes that you seem to never wear? They sit in your closet for months-sometimes even years-with the tags still on them? Well… I’ve got a couple simple (yet important) tips on how to buy things that you will actually wear, so you get your moneys worth.

You want clothes that are versatile. You should always look for things that you can dress up and dress down; because this way you will get more wear out of your clothes, which means your money won’t be wasted. The biggest way I do this is with my tanks. I have a tank in just about EVERY color, and by just simply changing the color tank I wear with an outfit; I can completely transform my whole look. Along with my accessories, I like to change my accessories up to change my look as well.

The most important thing you need to ask yourself when shopping for new clothes is “do YOU feel comfortable in what you have on?” Don’t get me wrong; we all need to step out of our comfort zones every now and then, but ultimately, you won’t wear it if you don’t feel comfortable with it on. A way to help you get over that though is having someone’s opinion, because sometimes others know best. Which leads me to my next point.

When you go shopping, always get someone’s opinion on what it looks like. This either means bring your best friend, your mom, your sister, or if he’s up for it-your man. They will tell you what looks good and what doesn’t. OR you can ALWAYS ask one of our Wear Us Out stylists what they think, and we will, not only be honest, but we will help you find the best outfit for you. Not to mention, by having someone tell you how amazing something looks on you, will give you the confidence you need to wear it, and to step out of your comfort zone so it doesn’t just sit in your closet.

Red, White, & Beautiful-4th of July Fashion

4th of July is fast approaching! With it only being two weeks away, you’re probably figuring out your plans, but have you thought about what you’re going to wear? Whether you’re attending a barbeque, soaking up the sun on the beach, hosting a party, or checking out a firework show you will want to show off your pride for our beautiful country. Here are a few outfits we have at Wear Us Out that won’t only be great for your 4th of July plans, but will be great for ALL summer long!

1). It’s no secret anything fringe is a hot trend this year, and graphic tees are trending right now too, and what better way to tie the two together with a pair of Dusty Rocker Boots! With that being said, I find this outfit to be perfect for showing your American pride in the trendiest way possible.

2). Want to be the cutest girl at the BBQ? This outfit is perfect for not only that, but for any other casual events you have going on this summer. The best way to tie in all three colors is to wear solid color pants (jean capris), a solid color shirt (red shirt) and then the remaining color you can incorporate into your outfit with your accessories (white necklace).
3). All white outfits with a dab of color in the accessories is another popular trend, so why not try it on the 4th of July! This outfit is so gorgeous and is perfect to wear to watch the fireworks on the beach!

4). Want to show your patriotism in a subtle way? Try this navy and white chevron maxi dress. Maxis can be worn to pretty much any event, because it’s so easy to dress them up or dress them down. The navy and white color scheme isn’t too overt, and allows you to stay well inside your comfort zone!

5). Don’t let the heat get the best of your hair this July 4th! This cute Pink Pewter stretch headband will complete your outfit while helping to keep your hair out of your face, and in place!

6). American All the Way! If you love showing your American pride by wearing the American flag on your clothing, then this is the part of the post you have been waiting for! We have an endless amount of American flag items in our store! Below are some of my favorites! And the BEST part about these; they can be worn all summer long!

There was no way I could have possibly fit EVERY single item we have in the store that would be cute to wear for Independence day, but now that you have an idea of what to wear come by and see us, and we can further dress you for whatever type of 4th of July plans you have!

Stepping Away From Black and Stepping Towards Color

If you’re anything like me, you wear black-a lot, all the time, and every chance you get. Why not, it’s the most flattering color to wear, and it matches EVERYTHING.

We did a poll question on our Facebook page asking, “What color do you wear most of?” We got 19 comments and EVERY SINGLE person said BLACK! But with the summer just beginning, we want to challenge you to add more color to your wardrobe, you’ll be surprised at how many compliments you will get, and even more surprised at how wearing color can alter your mood entirely.
Okay, I know what you’re thinking, “There’s no way!” “You wear black everyday.”  “You’d feel weird wearing any other color.” Or maybe, “My job requires me to wear black, so that’s pretty much all I can wear” Well I felt the SAME way. My friend convinced me to wear a bright-I mean a BRIGHT neon green shirt, but I am so glad she did, because almost every single person who saw me that day gave me a compliment on how amazing the color green looks on me, people were telling me how tan I looked (and at that point I had tanned twice), and they also told me how cute the shirt was on me. I mean strangers were telling me this at the grocery store, at work, at dinner with friends, they were telling me this EVERYWHERE I went.

Now, if you’re saying, “you can’t do this challenge because you have to wear black to work” that’s fine, wear black to work, but that doesn’t mean you have to wear black to dinner with your family, or on a date with your man, or when you go out for drinks with your girlfriends. So challenge yourself, step out of your comfort zone for one day! Just try it once!

Come by Wear Us Out and let our stylists help you find the perfect color for your skin tone, and get a new shirt that isn’t black, you don’t have to get crazy like I did and wear a neon shirt if you don’t want to, maybe start out with something a little less dramatic, but just try and add some color to your life. If you don’t like it after you try it that one time, then at least you tried, there’s no shame in that!

Then I want you to tell me how it worked (cause I know it’s going to work). You can comment on the blog below, post on the Wear Us Out Facebook page or Instagram, or come by the store and tell any of the employees.

You will be so surprised at how much a compliment can boost your confidence, all because you wore something other than black.
